Here, I will show,how to make 3d-model-3d-poly-text-effect.

[1]Open or reset 3D max,click on geometry>box, and drag it to on top view port.

[2]Select the box, right click on it and convert it into editable poly.

[3]In the top view port,pick up the polygon tool and design an alphabet your choice as shown in the image.

[4]Now,click on the extrude parameters,select extrude polygons,
extrude height:18.0.

[5]When you extrude the text,now go to subdivison surface and anable the NURMS subdivision.

[6]Open the material editor>shaderbasic parameter,select a map from the diffuse color setting,specular level:97, glossiness:41, Arisotropy:84

[7]You will the material as shown in the image and apply it to tour object.

[8]after applying the material, your image wil see like this.
